ante todo, lo siento mucho que no puedo escribir en espanol todo que quisiera decir. Espero que aunque algunos del foro van a comprenderme. Soy alemana y he visitado Gallipienzo Viejo y San Zoilo hace un mes ya que estoy trabajando sobre un libro con el téma "viajes por Navarra".
I felt attracted by the silutea de San Salvador, so I decided sponteanously to pay a visit to this attractive building. The acces for an outstanding person was quite difficult, as there were no signs that indicated that hay un camino up to the old church. So I placed my car at the entrance of the village and asked some kids to show me the way. They did quite well, leading me through the old, narrow, winding streets but arriving on top of the village I was overwhelmed by the sight. San Salvador is a medival jewel although I was very sad that I couldn't have a look at the interior or the crypta. Can anybody give me an idea about who has the key for the church? Nevertheless I choose the way going first around the church and then I had to bajar una escalera which was un desafío con un bolso, una cámara y otro objetivo en mi cuello. Nevertheless I was very happy to see, that restauration of the cultural heritage is carried out. I would be a pity if nobody would pay attention to these old buildings and if they would caer en olvidado. There are already incontable castillos, iglesias, ermitas, pueblos abandonados y olvidados en Navarra... So I think Gallipienzo is on a good way. But turning to San Zoilo I was absolutely despatarrada. This jewel of gothic art está en una condición lamentable. Nobody seems to take care of it. How can it be? I know, money is mostly the reason, but what about the vecinos itselves? Aren't they proud of their roots and cultural heritage to stop el dacimiento completo? It's not my itention to acuse anybody, but just to alert the people and also el gobierno de Navarra which defintely has una obligacón en frente de su historia.
I would be happy for any comments on my point of view de afuera, también en espanol (porque leer es más facil para mí que hablar o escribir), inglés o francés. If there is also anybody who can give me más informaciones sobre la historia, etnografía, los monumentos y el arte de Gallipienzo o San Zoilo I would be very grateful.
