TIELVE: Hello Emilia,...

Hello,
My great aunt's name is Emilia Bulnes from San Salvador. She married to become Emilia Bulnes Paredes and moved to San Francisco. My grandfather's name is Gustave Bulnes who ended up in Canada. My father says I have relatives from Cuba. I can't find any other relatives or parents of Emilia or Gustave. They were born in 1883 and 1884. There are also bulnes' who ended up in New Orleans too. Maybe we can help each other.
Thank you for your time
Bruce Bulnes

Hello Bruce, I can´t tell you if we are related, but I guess there aren´t many Bulnes around, jajaja I only know that there were Bulness in Tielve a town in Asturias, Spain, and that almost all the people in town who went to America ended up in Cuba first, and then other countries, I can´t tell you much about my father´s family because my Grandfather had no brothers or sisters, he came to
Mexico in 1950 with my Greatgrandmother, his father had already died, so they were on their own, and my Grandfather died when my father was 13, around 1972, so he didn´t knew much about his family. My father went to Cuba last year to investigate if there were any relatives there and he found a grave under the name Policarpio Bulnes, buy he didn´t remembered my Grandfather saying anything on a relative with that name, so... I´m curious, how do you pronounce Bulnes? Because in spanish it sounds like: Bull-ness, hope I helped you,
Emilia Bulnes

Hello Emilia,
Thank you for your help. I did not know that there are so many Bulnes'. I did not know that the people went to Cuba first before the United States and I will also check out Asturias Spain. I am happy to have Spanish roots. Yes I pronounce Bulnes like Bull Ness except I have to tell people that's how it pronounce it. Thank you for replying, much appreciated. If and when I find out anything, I will let you know.
Best regards,
Bruce Bulnes
