My name is Gene Medina and wanted to connect with any relatives in either Otivar or Lentegi. My great grandparents, Juan Medina Mingorance and Josefa Cobo Rodrigues immigrated to the USA via Hawaii in 1907 on the SS Heliopolis which left from Malaga. Later in 1912, my grandparents, Jose Medina Mingorance and Carmen Novo Moreno immigrated to USA and, after a brief visit in Hawaii, arrived San Francisco. They settled in Vacaville, CA and then Winters, CA. They returned to Otivar in 1915 and remained until 1919 (Jose returned) and 1920 (Carmen returned with the children, Jose and Juan and Antonio.
I have been working on our family (Medina and Novo) genealogies for the past eight years and am now exploring information on the Cobo, Mingorance and Moreno sides of the family.
We (my brother and I) in 1970 and then my family and I returned in 1999. We (my wife and I) next spring (2013) and were hoping to make contact with relatives prior to our return.
